A network plan for an overview of the Lake Constance region
The Lake Constance S-Bahn has the stated goal of ensuring the greatest possible mobility around Lake Constance and making travel by train, bus, and boat in the border region as easy and convenient as possible. The route network map developed by evoq shows the entire network of the Lake Constance region at a glance and is a valuable planning and orientation aid for all travelers.
Public transport across multiple borders? That sounds easier than it is. After all, borders often mean different standards, timetables, and even line numbers. This is where the Lake Constance S-Bahn project comes in. It is a joint project of the four major railway companies on Lake Constance and brings together five transport and tariff associations, eleven regional rail and bus companies, and five ferry and shipping companies under one roof.
An office coordinates the marketing of cross-border public transport in the Lake Constance region. The Lake Constance Ticket is an attractive, cross-border ticket that allows travelers to visit the countries bordering Lake Constance: Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The aim is to make public transport easier to use across national borders in an area with around 2.5 million inhabitants and high recreational value. Public transport customers in the region should be made aware of attractive offers, and cross-border public transport should be simplified and promoted. This will bring the region closer together as a whole.
All connections at a glance
The route network map developed by the evoq map team is aimed at commuters, but above all at people who want to explore the region's rich tourist attractions. All connections with a minimum frequency of every two hours and year-round availability are included, as are regular seasonal trains on weekends. The route network map is updated once a year when the timetable changes. evoq created the route network map based on data from SBB Trafimage. The map takes into account the current specifications of the industry organization Alliance SwissPass. These specifications stipulate a consistent design of graphic elements and labeling for all public transport in Switzerland in order to ensure consistency of information in public transport.
